Michael qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales in on 15th October 2014.
Having worked with several reputable local and regional law firms, Michael decided to branch out and formed Michael Cook Law Firm in November 2018.
Michael practices in the areas of commercial property/real estate, residential conveyancing, commercial and corporate law.
Lorretta Coulson
Practice Manager
Lorretta joined the firm in 2020 as Practice Manager and has extensive experience of working within legal practices and of managing staff and the needs of the business.
Lorretta’s role is extensive, incorporating all aspects of practice management and support to the lawyers and support staff. She has played a significant part in ensuring the Firm achieved and maintained their Conveyancing Quality Scheme Accreditation, together with the implementation of a wide variety of internal office policies and procedures to ensure the successful and smooth running of the firm.
Lorretta remains a valued and loyal member of the team.
When she is not at work, Lorretta enjoys time with her family and socialising with her friends including lengthy bike rides – weather permitting!
Claire Henry
Claire has been with the firm since August 2020 and has just over 20 years experience working in high street Law Firms starting out initially as an Office Junior then progressing to a Legal Secretary covering Conveyancing matters. She is now a trainee paralegal within our Law Firm.
Claire’s work entails offering legal support to clients, customer care and making sure they are kept up to date with the conveyancing process, drafting legal documents, managing registrations at the Land Registry, conducting Property Searches, file management among other tasks in the day to day transactions.

Elsa Duffield
Private Client, Family Law and Conveyancing Executive
Elsa joined the firm from a reputable law firm in North Shields and obtained a First Class Honours Law Degree from Sunderland University in 2011. She completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at Northumbria University in 2012.
Elsa is now taking new instructions and would be happy to assist with the following legal issues:-
- Divorce, Separation & Financial Matters;
- Domestic violence injunctions;
- Private and Public Children Law;
- All forms of residential Conveyancing;
- Wills, Trusts, Probate, Lasting Power of Attorney & Court of Protection

Shelagh Forster
Legal Administration Assistant
Shelagh joined the firm as a Legal Administration Assistant in April 2022. Shelagh has extensive experience of working within the Estate Agency business and has a broad understanding of residential conveyancing and therefore has an understanding of the needs of the business.
Shelagh’s role is extensive as she will be supporting clients, offering customer care to ensure they are kept up to date with the conveyancing process on their matter.
Shelagh is a valued and loyal member of the team.
When she is not at work, Shelagh enjoys time with her family and socialising with her friends including lengthy walks with her dogs.

Michelle joined Michael Cook Law Firm in August 2022 having spent the last 12.5 years at a reputable law firm based in Durham City having qualified as a solicitor on 3rd February 2014.
Leanne Mordue
Legal Secretary/Conveyancing Assistant
Leanne Joined Michael Cook Law Firm in October 2022 as a Legal Secretary/Conveyancing Assistant having spent several years within an employment law and retail environmental working for one of the UK’s leading sofa and carpet specialists.
Leanne has vast experience in retail and prides herself in providing excellent client care and high levels of service.
Outside of work Leanne loves spending time with her family and friends.
